What It Means to Step Inside Cannes

1 min read

Most people experience Cannes from the outside.

They follow the red carpet coverage. They watch the clips. They read the trades the morning after.

A smaller number attend. They walk the Croisette. They catch a screening. They feel the energy of the world's most important film week without ever quite touching it.

And then there is a third group — the people inside the rooms.

The ones present when a film gets its greenlight. When a distribution deal is struck over lunch at a Riviera table. When a story that will eventually reach millions of screens is still just a conversation between three people in a borrowed villa.

Momentum Starboard was built for that third group.

We are a UK-based film development company working at the intersection of cinematic IP, private investment and cultural access. Our work spans greenlighting original film and TV projects, structuring investment opportunities for high-net-worth and professional investors, and creating immersive experiences that place our community at the centre of the industry — not on the edges of it.

In May 2026, we return to Cannes. Not to attend. To work.

We will be in the rooms. At the tables. Behind the closed doors where the real festival happens.

If that is where you want to be too — you are in the right place.
